Overview

Over the past ten years, we have made investments in a number of renewable energy projects, two of which are in commercial operation and one, a biomass project is close to Financial Close. In all investment projects, we have been partners in the original development phase and have stayed on for the investment and operational phases of the projects.

The following investments have been made to date:

9

REISA Solar Plant

The project was declared a Preferred Bidder in the first round of the REIPPP programme in November 2011. It reached Commercial Operation in 2014 and has been in continuous operation since then. The plant employs solar photovoltaic (PV) technology and has an installed capacity of 81Mw. It’s licence however rates the plant at 75Mw. It is located in Kathu in the Northern Cape (near Sishen mine).

Naturecell Africa

Thermal efficiency is an impactful way of impacting carbon emissions and improving environmental quality. The company produces a range of eco-friendly products from natural fibres. It is in its launch phase, which has been delayed by the covid-19 pandemic, in which it will initially produce insulation and acoustic fibre matt for buildings and HVAC systems.
